B.E Manufacturing Processes and Automation Engineering

Manufacturing process: Manufacturing process may refer to a range of human activity, from handicraft to high tech, but is most commonly applied to industrial production, in which raw materials are transformed into finished goods on a large scale. Modern manufacturing includes all intermediate processes required for the production and integration of a product's components. Some industries, such as semiconductor and steel manufacturers use the term fabrication instead. The manufacturing sector is closely connected with engineering and industrial design. Scope of Manufacturing process engineering: Scope of manufacturing lies with every manufacturing industry in India from small scale sector to very large industrial plants. Automation Engineering: Automation engineering industrial automation or numerical control is the use of control systems such as computers to control industrial machinery and processes, reducing the need for human intervention. In the scope of industrialization, automation is a step beyond mechanization. Whereas mechanization provided human operators with machinery to assist them with the physical requirements of work, automation greatly reduces the need for human sensory and mental requirements as well. Processes and systems can also be automated. Scope: Large production, good quality and growing cost of labour has led to automation of industries and demand of automation engineers have been ever growing.
